The purpose of West Bay's Code of Conduct is to outline behaviour guidelines in order to create a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment. West Bay's Code of Conduct was developed collaboratively with staff, students, and parents and fulfills the requirements outlined in the Ministry's "Safe, Caring, and Orderly Schools" document revised in November, 2008.
Our school's Code of Conduct was updated in 2012 as a result of students' request to insert "Cooperative" as one of the guiding priniciples. Our new Code "ROCKS" includes "Respectful", "Open-minded", "Cooperative", "Kind" and "Safe". Please open the document below for more details.
At West Bay, we believe in a restorative approach that brings students together to talk about the situation and to find a resolution. To this end, students engage in a reflective process and complete one of the sheets below which is signed by a parent or guardian.
